About the Author

Icy Sedgwick hails from the frozen north of England, but currently lives and works in London. She balances her writing with a full time job in office management, although she is about to begin a PhD in Film Studies in October.

Icy has two e-books to her name, The First Tale and Checkmate & Other Stories, as well as stories in other anthologies. She can't actually pinpoint when she started writing, as she's been scribbling stories for as long as she can remember. From the first tales scrawled with wax crayons to longer work bashed out on her mother's old typewriter, Icy has since made the leap to weekly flash fictions, web-based serials and even a novel.

Icy doesn't like to restrict herself to writing one kind of fiction, which explains why she has a steampunk novella available, along with plans for a supernatural YA starring her beloved Fowlis Westerby, a collection of her Parrots and Piracy adventure stories, and the myriad of creepy stories she posts as part of Friday Flash.

She also has her very first book due out in September, through Pulp Press. The Guns of Retribution is a Western, full of train robberies, gun fights, hangings and femmes fatale. All in a day's work then!
