Uprooted from all she knows in London, lonely teen Sarah must start a new life in Northumberland. But her family’s new home is haunted by the best ghost in the business, Fowlis Westerby. And Fowlis takes pride in a job well done.

If only starting college and a haunted house were all Sarah had to deal with.

Instead of enjoying the summer holidays, she’s plunged into an afterlife in chaos by a shadowy figure from the other side. She’s alive for now…but the clock is ticking.

After they discover the nefarious plot for the dead to take over the world, Sarah and Fowlis must team up to stop the impending apocalypse.

Can Fowlis avoid the abyss and return Sarah to the land of the living? Or will she be forced to remain in the realm of the dead?

Reviews of The Stolen Ghosts

“Got this as a review copy . This was a great story and very well written. Definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a great ghost story. This is worth the read. I’m definitely looking forward to more from this author.” – 5*

“This book is a quick read–that’s not code for “short.” it’s code for “easy to get drawn into.” After a couple of chapters I thought I had a good idea where the story was headed, and roughly how it would turn out. I was happy to find myself wrong, and even happier again when later in the book I was wrong again. I don’t want to give too much away, but I think I’m on solid ground to say you’re going to get way more than you expect when you think of a “ghost story,” and you’re in for a few twists” – 5*

“Fowlis Westerby, Ghost Master General: the ghostly man’s ghost. Take a delightful romp to the afterlife and back…and back again in the company of one dignified ghost and his living companion, Sarah McKenzie, as they try to figure out what is going on in ghost HQ. Compulsively readable! A fun ghost story you won’t be able to put down. I received an advanced reader copy of this book to proofread and then write an honest review. I am most definitely looking forward to more novels in the Fowlis Westerby series.” – 5*

“I love Ms Sedgwick’s atmospheric writing; it draws you in so completely, I’d like to warn against reading just before bed. This reads perfectly for adults and teens alike – the best kind of fun which treats the reader with respect and keeps them engaged from start to finish. Thrilling Stuff!” – 5*

“The pairing of arch-haunter with would-be ghost hunter was unusual as was the idea of a tardis-like old building housing the headquarters of the afterlife with hints of other realms nudging at the edges. Set firmly in the present, references to equipment in current use for paranormal investigations lend authenticity, but it is the friendship between ghost and human that saves the day, preventing chaos between natural and supernatural realms. An enjoyable supernatural romp from an author who is no stranger to ghost-hunting herself.” – 4*

“This is a great take on a ghost story. Sarah and her family have moved into a large inherited house which her mother plans to turn into a B&B. Fowlis Westerby is a competitive ghost who is focused on collecting the most points to win the championship title of League of Haunting for the forty-second year running. Together they make an unlikely team and embark on solving a mystery. An addictive ghost story that makes you laugh as well as sending those shivers down your spine.” – 4*

“A young woman, Sarah, has her life turned upside down when her family inherit a country home and she is pulled away from London to move there. Already unhappy with all this unwelcome change, she discovers that the country home is haunted by Fowlis Westerby, the Ghost Master General. Together they must solve a mystery and Icy tells this charming story in a fun and compelling way. I am very happy that Icy has already labelled this as a series as I look forward to more stories with these wonderful characters!” – 5*
