Has Tarantino has made the Western popular again?

January 9, 2016 by Icy Sedgwick 4 Comments

Sometimes the west is weird as well as wild. Grey O'Donnell is back in To Kill A Dead Man, trying to cover who - or what - roams the Colorado forest...

Looks like Quentin Tarantino might be making the Western popular again with the release of The Hateful Eight! I saw it last night and by God, it was marvellous, but I’ll be doing a video review so I’ll talk more about it then. That was more just a passing comment before I get to the […]

How do you cope with rejection as a writer?

September 28, 2015 by Icy Sedgwick Leave a Comment

writers rejection

There are few things guaranteed in life, but if you’re a writer, then at some point or other, you’re sure to encounter rejection. No matter what you’re submitting, sooner or later, you’ll get some form of reply saying “Thanks, but no thanks.” It’s hard, I know, but it’s something every writer goes through. Picture the scene. You’ve […]

July 16, 2015 by Icy Sedgwick 4 Comments

Why on earth would I be a writer?

February 3, 2015 by Icy Sedgwick 3 Comments

Yesterday, my dear editor and exceptionally talented author Nerine Dorman wrote this post about why she writes. After an email conversation on the same topic, I wanted to add my own two cents to the conversation about why I would be a writer. I actually did my first creative writing course in 1999! Lord, that seems […]
